Information and Communications Technology - Overview

ICT is responsible for the ongoing operation, maintenance and development of a networked information system that supports the delivery of the SOPAC Work Programme; and facilitates access to new and historical data produced by the Secretariat.

ICT Sector provides secure, timely information and communication systems; and facilitates the following activies in the Secretariat :

  • Corporate and programme databases managed
  • Archive systems developed and maintained
  • Access to library services provided and maintained
  • SOPAC publications, awareness and education materials produced and distributed
  • ICT services support for the Secretariat provided
  • ICT risk management process developed and maintained

I would like to welcome you all to the celebration of this year’s World Water Day, which has the theme: Clean Water for a Healthy World. You may be aware that World Water Day has been celebrated annually since 1992 as an outcome of the World Summit on Environment and Development held in Rio, Brazil.
