Steering Committee meetings

The GCCA: PSIS project has held five Steering Committee meetings (SCM), enabling countries to share with each other and with regional organisations and development partners their experiences and lessons learned. The GCCA: PSIS project is supporting the development of the Strategy for Climate and Disaster Resilient Development in the Pacific (SRDP), through consultations and provision of technical assistance.

The GCCA: PSIS project is also supporting development of the Pacific Climate Change Portal.

Lessons Learnt roadshow

The project team conducted 11 roadshows between Q4 2015 and Q1 2016 and reached 250 development professionals in Fiji, Samoa, New Caledonia and FSM. The roadshow was also presented to members of the Diplomatic Corps based in Suva. Resources on the roadshow can be accessed below:

Climate Change Finance

The project worked at the regional level to enhance knowledge and share lessons learnt about climate change finance and helped individual countries progress new modalities for accessing climate change finance.

Training in Logical Framework Approach (LFA)

The GCCA: PSIS project conducted national training workshops in all nine project countries over a 15-month period between 2013 and 2014. In FSM four workshops were conducted – one in each of the states.

In 2015, refresher training workshops on LFA and monitoring and evaluation were conducted in five countries.

Solar Disinfection (SODIS) in the Pacific

Solar water disinfection (SODIS), an effective, environmentally sustainable, low-cost solution for drinking water treatment at a household level was successfully tested, trialled and launched in the Pacific island nation of Kiribati over the period 2014 – 2016 by the GCCA: PSIS project.
